Oriol Texidor
After being moved by work from the Spanish artist Antoni Tàpies Oriol knew he was going to dedicate his life to art. In his work, he is looking to awaken a subconscious state of the spectator in which the viewer reflects on what he sees and experiences. His latest work, Immersió, consists of a series of panels where the inner figure is immersed and the context of the figure differs in each works. He uses different techniques based on what works best for the work.
The Immersió series has been exhibited in Barcelona, Terrassa, Maastricht, Wiesbaden, Reus, Cologne. Next to the smaller works (up to 170 cm) A number of large installation works have been created and exhibited from Argentina to Frankfurt am Main.
Oriol studied architecture and is an autodidact as an artist. He thought himself the history of art by traveling and visiting museums and with all the impressions he started painting in 2002. He works normally from his studio in Barcelona but also enjoys creating a workspace travelling and working with what is at hand. It challenges him.
The work of Oriol Texidor can be found in many public and private collections.
