Marc Prat and Martin Bloeck exhibit at PontArte in Maastricht.
On the 20th of September the opening of the exhibition from Marc Prat and Martin Bloeck kicks off our next collaboration with Rubrecht Contemporary. The artists will show paintings and objects at PontArte Gallery in Maastricht.
What connects these 2 artists? Marc Prat (Mataró, Spain, 1971) and Martin Bloeck (Blachownia, Polen, 1990 and living and working in Mainz, Germany) both work from an inner drive. This results in expressive works in which you can recognize the human body, faces and animals. Both artists aren’t interested in a precise representation of what they see but they express a feeling by their work. By looking at the work, or even touching the work, you feel the energy in the work.
For this occasion, Marc Prat shows us large works of animals using different supports. It doesn’t matter if it is paper, a piece of wood he found or raw cotton. Anything can be used as support for this series, enhancing even the energy that is in the work.
Bloeck uses clay for his prototypes. With this material he can form his “bodies”, that at a later stage will be casted in Bronce. The bodies are recognizable, but are on the other end abstract in their color and material.
This exhibition is our 3rd collaboration with Rubrecht Contemporary from Wiesbaden. It gives us the opportunity to bring you interesting artists both in Wiesbaden and in Maastricht.
The exhibition was first held in Wiesbaden, from the 23rd of June until the 30th of August.
In Maastricht the show will run from the 20th of September until the 10th of October.
On Friday September 20th at 17.00 hrs. we open the exhibition in presence of the artists and Leander Rubrecht, from Rubrecht Contemporary.
Visit us from Thursday – Saturday 11.00 – 17.00 hrs. and by appointment.
